Lady Gaga | FAME

Lady Gaga – Fame Eau de parfum*

Hey dolls, I recently received this little beauty through the post and ever since opening it I have been itching to tell more about it and/or do a review, and so I shall! Now i’m really not the best with words, especially when it comes to fragrance and I don’t know all the technical terms so I shall include what they say about the fragrance and then tell you a bit about what I think personally.

‘Lady Gaga Fame is the first ever black Eau de Parfum that sprays clear and becomes invisible once airborne.
The fragrance has a unique structure called the “push-pull technology,” where the ingredients interact together to highlight different olfactive aspects of each note at the same time, without any hierarchy.
The scent is built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light.

The dark accord was inspired by Belladonna, the deadly nightshade possessed by haunted beauties since the 18th century.
From this darkness, the fragrance evolves to a sensual accord of opulence, a fusion of dripping honey, saffron and apricot nectar.

And lastly, the light accord whispers magnificence.
The rich floral layer of crushed Tiger Orchid and Jasmine Sambac embodies timeless beauty.

The accords work together to create a fragrance of floral and fruity elements, with the star ingredient inspired by Belladonna leveling out the whole fragrance and giving Lady Gaga Fame its signature as a scent.’

First impressions
When I first sniffed the fragrance, I was a little underwhelmed, The whole world that is Gaga, the bottle, the packaging and black fluid seemed to promise something unique, strong, bizarre and dark but it was surprisingly light, floral and girly.
I was disappointed! I also thought it smelt like so many other ‘celeb’ fragrances I have tried and forgotten..But I sprayed it onto myself for the day to see if the scent might change after a few hours.

The Good
I have been spraying this for a few days now and it had grown on me quite a bit more, I read all about how the notes work etc and It seemed quite interesting and different in that way. The fragrence is floral/fruity but on my skin it does have a dark side to it aswell, I cant put my finger on it but something every so slightly musky hidden beneath the floral notes. The packaging/bottle I absolutley LOVE, this is something I am definatly drawn to and I also love the idea of black fluid spraying clear. I am a lover of everything black! The bottle is very different to any other i have on my dressing table, I like different! The scent also does linger for a decent amount of time, I could still smell it on my skin a few hours after spraying.

The Bad
It has grown on me but at the same time I can tell It wont become my favourite perfume or signature scent or anything. I feel overall it is not unique enough and it smells very similar to another perfume (Rhianna or beyonce’s I cant figure it out)I think its lovely as a summer-night scent and its something I will whip out from time to time but Its nothing on my new love – Stella!

The Ugly?
Overall I wouldn’t say to rush out and purchase this, its definitely something you should go and sniff for yourself to see if its worth the hype in your eyes. If you are interested though but the black fluid/bottle puts you off – dont let it! Its surprisingly feminine with a pinch of mystery, and if you like that, then go for it!

What are your first impressions?

Sammi xoxo
